Exploring the connection between women's bodies and their intuition, emphasising the importance of listening to and honoring bodily wisdom - By Kathy Ozakovic, published by CENTRED Magazine

As a woman, have you ever considered that you literally have a portal between your legs?
Women are uniquely connected to the spiritual realm given our ability to birth children and bring spirits into this world. I am amazed every time I think of this and feel a very strong sense of pride about my ability as a woman. More recently, I have met the parts of me beyond my body. Going through breast implant illness and the explant surgery unlocked an energy within me I did not understand.
This led me to Rebirthing Breathwork.
Just like the name suggests, closely linked to our birth experience. Our first success and, for some, our first trauma in life. When we are children, we are more closely connected to spiritual realm given we have just come from it and have no limiting beliefs yet.
That imaginary friend I had at age 5, yea, I don't think 'White Fang' was imaginary anymore. I think he was a spirit guide or angel. I was saddened when my brother made fun of me, and I suppressed that part of myself.
This journey of life is essentially one of forgetting and remembering.
Through our internal and external environment, we start to build layers upon layers of programming. Indoctrinated by others' beliefs as well as our own meaning making.
When we surrender to life's experiences, without labelling them good or bad, we are more likely to remember the truth of who we really are, and what we are here to do.
The part of me that was awakened through the explant surgery was my intuition. I stopped listening to my intuition when I closed off my heart due to pain and hurt, covering grief.
I was led by instinct, but my instincts were reactive and addicted to drama. It was when I started reconnecting to my intuition through meditation, oracle card readings, breathwork that my body started communicating breast implant illness symptoms louder and louder.
I was out of alignment. I had outgrown the implants. I was stepping into becoming a health and wellness leader, and breast implants were not part of the message I wanted to project onto my future children.

The way I see it now, after 2 years of healing post explant surgery, my intuition's job is noy to protect me from difficulties or hardships. No, my intuitions job is to lead me into the situations that will have me learn the lessons to reprogram my nervous system, and therefore my instincts.
My intuition led me into that 8 - hour explant surgery and made me sit in the discomfort of pain and grief. My intuition had me enter the relationship with a narcissist that revealed to me my own family dynamics. My intuition wants me to thrive. My instincts needed to be recalibrated, reprogrammed, upgraded.
Instincts are automatic, governed by the nervous system, the fight or flight response. My instinct used to be to defend myself. My instinct now is to remove myself. My instinct used to be to people please, to cross boundaries, to disperse blame. My instinct now is to take complete ownership and responsibility of my words and (in)actions.
When you learn the lessons, you will reprogram your instinct, silence the noise and hear your intuition. I believe my intuition comes from my higher self, my best self, my future self living her best life and sending me intuitive hits helping me stay on course to becoming her.
Do the work.
