Becoming an Action Taking Cheetah - The Shift Within

When lockdowns happened, I felt cluttered and overwhelmed. When gyms shut, I felt thrown of course. Work started to pile up and emotions heightened. Paula's challenge came around and I thought 'perfect timing'. I fully committed to the challenge by making sure I was present, undisturbed and engaged. Turned my phone on airplane mode, had my pen, notebook, water ready.


The challenge is held each morning 7am-8am and each afternoon 5.30pm-6pm. The morning session is learning, processing and sharing. The afternoon session is a time to discuss the workbook and what we learnt over the course of the day.

On Day 1 we listed all our triggers and gave them a rating. I rated my triggers 8/10. Over the course of Day 1 and Day 2 we learnt A LOT and shared as much as we were comfortable. I didn't share much on Day 1 during the session but later wrote a paragraph in the FaceBook group about my challenges.


On the morning of Day 3, I felt something brewing inside me. I felt uncomfortable and didn't want to show up to the challenge. I was on edge. However, I fully committed to the challenge and showed up for myself. That Wednesday morning we listed all those triggers from Day 1 again. I was already in a heightened emotional state. Listing those triggers made them now a 10/10 and after the session I had a 'tantrum'. A full blown 10/10 tantrum where I screamed without making noise (extremely uncomfortable and painful for the neck, throat and head), my body shook and I yelled at my partner. I later apologised and explained I had to "work through the mud to get to my lotus", he still has no idea what I was on about.


Day 3 led to my 'undoing' which led to a completely NEW DOING. With Paula's guidance, I fully understood what happened. I was able to process the tantrum and learn from it. I recognised the misalignment between my values, beliefs, vision and my current actions.


Here's what shifted for me: before the challenge, I had pretty good intuition and knew what my gut was telling me. After the challenge, I STOPPED IGNORING IT and became an action taking cheetah running towards MY VISION.

Paula called me an 'action taking cheetah' on Saturday during her Internal Vaycay event. Over the 5 days of the challenge, I resigned from 3 different jobs so that I could fully immerse myself into my purpose. I reached out for support, outsourced tasks. I invested time, money and energy into my development (Mon-ergy). I broke 5-10 years of limiting beliefs and let go of decisions I made when I was 18 years old. Decisions others have made for me.


Self trust leads to action. I didn't have the 'how to' guide. Resistance and BS came up that I am still working through. Here's what shifted for me: before the challenge, I had pretty good intuition and knew what my gut was telling me. After the challenge, I STOPPED IGNORING IT and became an action taking cheetah running towards MY VISION. Paula led us in meditation and we met our empowered self. My empowered self was strong, calm, beautiful and radiating WELLNESS. She also wasn't doing any of the BS that was on my plate at the time of the challenge. So, when I came out of the challenge and had my strategy talk with Paula. BOOM.


Paula asked me: What advice would you give others struggling to take action?' I thought to myself, what is it that enabled me to change so many things in such a short period of time? I was able to break through so many barriers because I created so much CLARITY about my values, beliefs and vision and found CHOICE in all circumstances. It was the structure of the challenge! I actioned the principles that we covered in the challenge.

On day 5 we reflected back and those SAME triggers were now a 3/10. Very quickly, with a few more changes, they are becoming a zero. Thank you Paula for giving me the knowledge and tools to break through my barriers, gain clarity and find choice in all circumstances!
